Mixergy take a fresh approach to hot water in their mission to decarbonise the home and wider energy networks.
The Mixergy tank is a premium stainless steel cylinder designed to optimise energy consumption, improve utilisation of renewable energies and enable intelligent control over water usage. Their cylinders, which can be configured as open-vented or pressurised, can heat with all conventional and renewable heat sources. Internet connectivity means the Mixergy tank is primed for users to benefit from dynamic Time of Use tariffs.
Only heat what you need. Save <20% on hot water bills by reducing energy wastage. See how much hot water you have at any time via the gauge or the Mixergy App.
Mixergy tanks deliver hot water up to 5x faster with electric and up to 2x faster with gas compared to conventional tanks.
Build a schedule that ensures you always have enough water available. Our Machine Learning optimises how much to heat and when, preventing you from running out!
Heat your water with a range of energy sources: Gas boiler, electric, solar PV, solar thermal or even heat pumps!
Conventional hot water tanks heat all or nothing irrespective of how much hot water is required by the user. This can waste energy heating water that isn’t required and can result in unnecessarily long heating times.
The Mixergy tank differs to conventional tanks in three fundamental ways:
Mixergy’s top-up technology exploits thermal stratification (water rising when it heats) to ‘float’ hot water on top of cold to enable users to selectively heat different volumes of water. When the tank charges (heats), it increases the portion of water which is heated from the top down, rather than trying to heat the entire volume at once, as conventional cylinders do.
By only heating what you need you can save 5-20% on hot water bills through energy savings.
Top-up technology also enables Mixergy to deliver usable hot water up to 5x faster for direct electric tanks, and up to 2x faster for indirect gas tanks. By heating smaller volumes of water as you need it, hot water is ready faster.
In conventional hot water cylinders, your hot water is diluted by the cold water that enters the tank whilst you ‘draw off‘ your hot water. Mixergy uses novel diffusers that prevent the cold water from stirring up your hot water. In practice this means a Mixergy cylinder retains 30% more usable hot water when compared side-by-side to a conventional hot water cylinder (National Physical Laboratory accredited).
The ability to hold 30% more usable hot water means you can install a smaller cylinder, making more room available in your airing cupboard.
Each Mixergy tank has an onboard smart controller that connects the tank to the internet. This allows you to control your Mixergy tank via the Mixergy app. You can: Boost instantaneously, set schedules, track your consumption and costs, change your energy sources and much more!
Each Mixergy tank also comes with a handheld controller that allows you to locally check how much water you have available and boost there and then. Mixergy affectionately call this controller ‘The Gauge’.
Fitting a Mixergy cylinder could typically reduce the amount of gas used to provide hot water by 12%, compared to fitting a new market leading alternative cylinder.
If a boiler is short cycling regularly, fitting a Mixergy cylinder can help to eradicate this, leading to total water heating gas savings of up to 21%.
These savings have been independently verified by the Energy Savings Trust. To see their full report, click here.
"Fantastic"
Had our Mixergy hot water tank fitted a few weeks ago - producing plenty of hot water as needed and the tank has just switched over to the AI driven energy efficiency mode after learning our hot water habits for the last couple of weeks.
"Excellent"
Excellent product. Excellent service. I have had a Mixergy tank for over a year now (used with a heat pump). The tank is excellent, providing water that is always hot, even when we have already drawn off over 90% of the contents.
"Faultless"
The future of hot water tanks. We had our Mixergy tank installed in July 2019 and it has been faultless ever since and performed beyond expectation... It seems to be super efficient too - our energy costs have never been so low.
